Attorney Phyllis A. Walker
Phyllis was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. She obtained her bachelor’s degree from UCLA and her law degree from Southwestern Law School.
Phyllis now calls Punta Gorda and Southwest Florida her home. Phyllis joined the McCrory Law Firm in 2011 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2012. Her legal emphasis is Family Law, Estate Planning, Real Estate, Business Law and Probate and Trust Administration. She is a licensed attorney in both Florida and California and is certified with the Florida Supreme Court as a family law mediator and circuit civil law mediator. She is on the family law mediator panel with the 20th Judicial District and regularly mediates family law cases for the 20th Judicial District, Charlotte County. In addition, Phyllis has been appointed as a Special Magistrate to preside over Charlotte County Baker Act hearings.
Prior to moving to Florida, Phyllis practiced primarily Family Law in Los Angeles for a small boutique family law firm where she gained extensive family law and litigation experience. During this time Phyllis was appointed by the Court to represent children in custody matters and worked as a volunteer family law mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court. In addition, Phyllis spent three years (1995-1998) in Moscow, Russia, where she worked as in-house counsel for Ernst & Young (CIS) Ltd.
Phyllis is a member of the Charlotte County Bar Association and is on the Board of Directors of Virginia B. Andes Volunteer Community Clinic, a non-profit organization providing no-cost primary and semi-urgent medical services and prescription medication to Charlotte County’s uninsured. Phyllis previously served on the Board of Directors and was Board Past President of the Lifelong Learning Institute, a former non-profit organization offering educational and enrichment classes in the Charlotte County area. Phyllis is also an alumnus of the 2014 Leadership Charlotte Class.
Phyllis enjoys traveling the world, home design, kayaking/boating and spending time with friends and family.
