A Strong Year for Community Grantmaking
The Fall 2025 cycle reflected the Charlotte Community Foundation’s expanded approach to competitive grantmaking, which includes both unrestricted operating grants and program-specific grants funded through donor-designated endowments and donor-advised funds.
A committee of 24 community volunteers, chaired by Board Secretary JoAnn Tompkins, reviewed 43 applications and recommended funding for organizations based on leadership strength, financial health, and community impact. The CCF Board of Directors approved the committee’s recommendations, resulting in grants to organizations serving some of the county’s most pressing needs.
Building for the Future
During the program, CCF leaders also shared a preview of what’s ahead. The Foundation plans to double the amount of funding available for its Spring 2026 grants cycle, thanks to growth in its Charlotte Forever Fund and increased donor participation.
CCF continues to focus on building permanent community resources through endowed funds that support nonprofit services year after year, ensuring Charlotte County has a strong philanthropic foundation for the future.
Community Leadership in Action
As Chair of the Board, Jill McCrory helps guide the Foundation’s governance and long-term strategy. In her remarks, she thanked the grants committee, staff, and nonprofit partners for their dedication and emphasized the importance of building lasting resources that benefit the community now and in the years ahead.
Events like the Fall 2025 Grants Celebration highlight the collective effort behind local philanthropy — from volunteer reviewers and nonprofit leaders to donors and board members — all working together to strengthen Charlotte County.
